Riding School
Horse Riding offers a great workout for both the mind and the body, physically boosting the cardiovascular system and easing stresses on the mind.
Horse riding is recognised as having therapeutic qualities. The psychological benefits can be of equal importance to you as the physical benefits.
In our modern society we spend much of our time indoors. Simply being outdoors and enjoying the fresh air will boost your general well being.
Horse riding as a sport also helps teaches self-discipline and can increase your patience levels as well as help define your focus and control in life.
Stabling
If you are interested in taking up a stable or two or looking for outdoor livery for your hoofed friend contact Hanne on 079 056 9118. The premises is enclosed. Capable grooms are employed, ensuring that each horse receives sufficient attention. Paddocks or group camps are available where the horses spend daytime. The horses are provided with sufficient grass and clean water.
Horses are fed daily. All horses are groomed regularly and checked for injuries. Water, feed buckets and grass nets are provided.
Trail Rides
At Rivierpoort Ryskool Stables in the Harrismith area, we offer a variety of trail ride options to allow visitors to explore our amazing landscape on horseback and we are well equipped to accommodate riders of every level and experience.
The stables can accommodate up to 8 riders at a time and each group trail ride is led by an experienced guide. The trails go through the most beautiful routes, through the neighbouring mountains and hills, stopping along the way to take in the stunning views of the Free State.
We offer 1 hour, 2 hour and 3 hour long trail rides.
Please note that trail rides need to be booked in advance.
